<p><a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/paullewis" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Guardian reporter Paul Lewis</span></strong></a> presents the findings of a <a href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/series/reading-the-riots" target="_blank"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Guardian and London School of Economics study</span></strong></a> that reveals how the riots in England were sparked by poverty, injustice and a visceral hatred of the police.</p>
